2025 Boys Select Playoffs Format & Guide
MAY 17 DEADLINE FOR REGULAR SEASON GAMES & POST GAME REPORTS:
- All regular season games must be played by Saturday, May 17
- ALL Post Game Reports MUST be submitted by 11pm on May 17.

- Any game's Post Game Report NOT submitted by 11pm on May 17 will not count for the final regular season standings and Power Rankings.

PLAYOFFS
- Every team will play in a single elimination post-season bracket tournament, either the Championship Bracket or the Best of the Rest Bracket
- See below for the number of teams for each division that will make the Championship Bracket
- Power Rankings determine final standings for bracket placement.
- Power Rankings determine playoff seeding.
- Playoff Brackets will be announced Monday night, May 19.
Boys 7/8 Championship Brackets
- 1-4 Seeds automatically advance to Quarterfinals and will host the Quarterfinal Games
- Quarterfinal games should be played on Friday, May 30 (see below for other possible dates if fields are not available)
- If its a 8-12 team bracket, first round games must be played by Wed, May 28.
- Higher seeded team hosts and works with opposing coach to schedule asap
- Higher Seeded Teams host the semi-final games
- Semi-final games should be played on Friday, June 6 (see below for other possible dates if fields are not available)
- Championship Games are at Jordan Field at Harvard University
- 7/8 D1 - Thursday, June 12 @ 7:45pm
- 7/8 D2 - Thursday, June 12 @ 6:00pm
- 7/8 D3 - Tuesday, June 10 @ 7:45pm
- 7/8 D4 - Tuesday, June 10 @ 6:00pm
- Communicate with opponent and potential future opponents to schedule games as soon as possible.
Game Operations Reminders For Playoffs:
- Boys Select Games MUST consist of Four 10-minute start/stop time quarters. Exception, if the score differential ever gets to 12, game moves to running time for remainder of the game.
- Girls Select Games MUST consist of TWO 25-minute running time quarters
- Clock stops in the last minute of each half...
- After a goal and starts with the draw whistle
- All fouls in the critical scoring area and restarts on the officials whistle

- Home Team must provide
- A visible scoreboard
- Scorers table, scoreboard and timing devices for game and penalties
- Minimum 2 people to run clock, scoreboard, and penalty times.
- Adequate game balls and endline balls.
- Pylons or cones to cleary mark boundries, midfield/restraining lines, substitution box.
- Both team head coaches should confirm the final score immediately after the game AND BOTH must submit a post-game report so MYL can verify the winner and score.
- There is overtime in Select League Playoffs
- BOYS
- 4-minute sudden death overtime periods until a goal is scored. First goal wins.
- GIRLS
- 3-minute sudden death periods until a goal is scored. First goal wins
- BOTH Teams Must Submit a Post Game Report for EVERY GAME
- Scores are not official until a post game report is submitted by both teams.
